Feeling Hospitable

Because, really, when I have been awake since 4:00 am with a crabby baby and say “No, Thank You,” after stumbling to the door while hoping that the barking dogs don’t wake anyone up from their naps other than me–what I’m really thinking is:

If I wanted new gutters, I would open the Yellow Pages–not wait for you to show up on my doorstep at just the right frickin’ time.

Yep, I’m officially grouchy.

Too bad your dogs are mops without sticks, not much eating going on there. Of course you have big red but she is getting much like my boys old. I feel so protected by my deaf and senile crew.

  2. Scarlet used to give strange men something to think about when they tried to walk up to our house. She still sounds intimidating enough, but she hasn’t tried to chase anyone off for awhile now. I considered putting a picture of Genji on the sign to illustrate how hopeless it actually is.

Oh, and can I say how much I love the fact that the wordpress algorithm gives you a pink quilt square avatar?

  3. If you don’t mind, I think I’ll print that out and post it to our door too. 😉 We get so many solicitors… it’s crazy, and they’re always for home improvements. I mean I know our house needs a little work, but COME-ON! Do we need to be reminded 5 times a day??

  4. The boys used to make people think now anyone and everyone is just willing to get out of their cars with the boys following them. I feel real safe when little old ladies have no fear of my chow or St. Bernard. It may be time to upgrade so that the new generation is full size before the current generation dies off. I honestly poke Dugan every morning to make sure he is still alive. Dex isn’t much better.

  5. Oh, Elaine, that’s horrible! Of course, unless you are afraid they will both expire at the same time, I wouldn’t be buying a puppy yet. Something about three big dogs and an ankle biter that sounds a bit hectic to me. Your call, though.

  6. I think you could probably print these out, laminate them and sell them for a good price. I’d buy one!

Actually I posted that. We are very unlikely to go getting another big dog yet but there is a fairly serious void left between when the boys go and a puppy can obtain full size. They are probably not going to go that far apart as they are only 2 years apart in age. The dog I am looking at a Shiloh Shepard, when the time comes.
